Fall Infused Cocktails

     As the weather begins to get a bit chillier and Summer turns into Fall, our cocktails should change along with the season! Let’s face it, sipping on a hard seltzer just seems a little less appealing when you’re trying to stay warm and cozy. If your iced coffee has turned to a pumpkin spiced latte, it’s time for your cocktails to follow along! Here are a few easy recipes to try out if you’re looking for some fall-inspired libations.

Toasty Pecan Old-Fashioned

     A plain and simple old-fashioned on its own is a great cold-weather cocktail, but this recipe really kicks it up a notch. If you’re a fan of whiskey, you’re going to love this one. Throw on your flannel and cozy up fireside because this cocktail is sure to warm you up on the inside!

Recipe:
  • 3 Dashes of Pecan Bitters (Miracle Mile Toasted Pecan Bitters on Amazon)
  •2 oz. Bourbon (Try a local favorite: Black Button Bourbon)
  •1/2 oz. simple syrup
  •Orange Peel

Instructions:
  •In a rocks glass add a few ice cubes. If you have trays for large ice cubes or spheres one of those are perfect!
  • Add 3 dashes of pecan bitters to the glass.
  • Pour in whiskey and simple syrup.
  • Give the glass a few light stirs, then take orange peel and zest over top.
  •Run the peel around the rim of the glass, then drop in for garnish!

Mulled Cider Mocktail

     If you’re looking to get that warm and fuzzy feeling without worrying about the aftermath the next morning, I have just the mocktail for you. One of the first things most of us associate with Fall are apples. Turns out that the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” originated during prohibition to get folks to start eating their apples instead of drinking cider, which is what the apple was originally used for! A boozy cold cider is a great Fall drink, but this alcohol free hot cider recipe is sure to do the trick as well.

Recipe:
  • 1/2 Gallon of Apple Cider
  • 5 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1 Tsp Whole Cloves
  • 1 Orange, sliced
  • Pinch of Ground Nutmeg

Instructions:
  • In a large pot warm cider over medium heat.
  • Add in the nutmeg and stir occasionally.
  • Stick the cloves into the orange slices
before adding those to the pot. Cloves could be a potential choking hazard, so don't skip this step!
  • Add in cinnamon sticks and let the cider simmer over low heat for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  • Serve in a mug with cinnamon stick, orange and apple slices for garnish! Star anise also make a great garnish for this drink.
  • If you want to make this a spiked cider, add some yummy bourbon. One to one and a half ounces per mug would be the perfect amount.

 Campfire Martini

     If you’re looking for something quick and easy for your next Fall shindig, this one is super simple to make and extra tasty! Impress your guests with this fancy looking campfire inspired treat. If you’re looking to make this a hot beverage just add a little coffee into the mix!

Recipe:
  • 1 oz. Marshmallow or Vanilla Flavored Vodka
  • 2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • Crushed Graham Cracker
  • Chocolate Syrup

Instructions:
  • In a cocktail shaker, mix vodka and
Irish cream.
  • Add a handful of ice and shake well.
  • Garnish with toasted marshmallows or make it even fancier by drizzling chocolate sauce around the rim of a martini glass and dipping that in graham cracker crumbs!
